Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, has published their initial experience using the metra to assess and transplant high-risk donor livers in the Journal Liver Transplantation. 

The team found the metra "enabled the safe use of ten high‐risk orphan donor livers with 100% six‐month patient and graft survival. NMP improved surgeon confidence to use orphan donor livers and has enabled a safe expansion of the donor pool".
